Dr Ntombifikile Nokwethemba Mtshali (MD, MBA) is a transformational healthcare leader whose career spans the full breadth of South Africa's health ecosystem. From becoming the youngest hospital CEO in the country's history at age 31 to leading a national adolescent health organisation reaching nearly one million young people, she has consistently demonstrated the ability to drive large-scale organisational change.
Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer and Principal Investigator at Shout-It-Now NPC, Dr Mtshali manages a multi-million dollar grant portfolio funded by the CDC DREAMS initiative, the Gates Foundation, Gilead, and the South African Medical Research Council. She directs over 450 staff across five priority districts, delivering evidence-based HIV and gender-based violence prevention programming to vulnerable youth in Gauteng and North West provinces.
Her expertise lies at the intersection of clinical medicine, business strategy, and implementation science. She combines a medical degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with an MBA from Wits Business School and a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership from the University of Lancaster, UK, complemented by executive education at Harvard University and the Center for Creative Leadership.
